Here's hoping they have more success this time. I'm glad they are back.
Recreating a native habitat has been a dream of mine since I was about 18. It only took me 20 years, but I finally have two acres of land in the country with which to work (and play). My goal is to document the improvements I make to the property: restoring habitat & attracting birds and butterflies in addition to other wildlife.

Fingers Crossed
I left the bluebird box alone for a long while not wanting to even take a peek inside for fear the bluebird pair would not build a nest. Finally, I took a peek. Nothing. However the very next day, I looked again and found this:

Yes, I was shocked. It seemed to me I checked in the evening, and by the time I checked mid-morning/early afternoon they had built that much. It looks like they may add a bit more, but I'll have to check in on them again.
Maybe the fact that I'd mowed the overgrown paths and there was plenty of dried grasses to choose from may have helped speed up the process.
