So, I had to go in for the camera...and I had to post.
Recreating a native habitat has been a dream of mine since I was about 18. It only took me 20 years, but I finally have two acres of land in the country with which to work (and play). My goal is to document the improvements I make to the property: restoring habitat & attracting birds and butterflies in addition to other wildlife.

Unexpected Surprise
There has been a lot going on around here with the start of the school year, seven straight days of rain last week, and, mostly, some much needed improvements to the house, so, I've had little time to enjoy the yard, work in the yard, or post here. Today, while walking outside, I was about to pull a fallen leaf off of one of the witch hazels I put in a couple of years ago, when my brain finally made sense of an odd colored blob nearby that turned out to be a cool little (tree) frog (I think).
So, I had to go in for the camera...and I had to post.

I've been rather busy and have been neglecting the blog--well too much going on and too much rain has kept me out of the yard a lot lately. So, when I saw your comment come in through e-mail, I was trying to figure out why "the little guy" (a term I also used for one of the monarch larvae) looked so prehistoric. After posting the comment, and then opening the page, I saw who you meant.
That is the first tree frog I've come across. I'm hoping to see more...and different species of them too. :)
