Just the back yard!? Nah, I want the front and side yards landscaped in natives too.

Yesterday Evening

Finally I'm noticing that the sun is starting to set later...I'm ready for longer days again.

I'm not a winter person, but I can enjoy it on a limited basis. :)

We are really lucking out this year; it seems we are close to the halfway point of most of the normal winter weather and we've barely had any! :):):)

With the days getting longer, hopefully I can better handle whatever is coming. March always feels like spring to me even if we get snow.

First snow tonight, even a winter storm warning, yes. Several inches of snow are welcome in the garden. But I agree that the slow return to longer days is happening.

Good for you,Gloria. :)

I am looking forward to some snow, too...but I'm not sure *when* yet. I can't imagine going the whole season without any.

A blanket of snow can help with protecting some plants from the cold and from drying out (although I'm not sure how badly indigenous plants need it). Not only does it provide a beautiful change to what is there now, but what would spring be like without the thaw of melting snows and the water they bring?

Enjoy your coming snowfall. :)
