Just the back yard!? Nah, I want the front and side yards landscaped in natives too.

Year in Review: 2012

It is that time of year again...and if I'm lucky, I'll get this posted before the new year (but no promises).

Despite the warm, nearly snow-less winter we had last year, I have a shot or two of winter from last January.  This year, late December, we had a couple of small storms that dropped about two or three inches of snow each, so we are up to about 6-8 inches.  That means this years photos will end with snow!

Here's hoping 2013 will be a good year for all.

Happy New Year!

A very nice line up! Have to admit though--feed me pictures of pussy willow and nuthatches and all is right with my world. Thanks!

Smile. Thanks, R.K. :)

I wasn't sure I'd get it posted this year with all that is going on. I'm glad I did, I'm trying to make it a tradition.

It would probably be more effective as a slideshow, but it is nice to see the yet progress, especially now when I can use a reminder that spring is on its way.

I'll try to keep in mind your penchant for nuthatches and pussy willow for next year--being favorites of mine too should make it easy.

Beautiful images! Isn't it fun to look back...and then to plan ahead?! I think I noticed a pic of Black Cap Raspberries--they're so tasty, aren't they? Great for jam, too!

Thank you, PlantPostings.

Yes, it is good to plan ahead as well. I'm looking forward to seeing things grow and spread, adding more, attracting more, and looking back at how far I've come.

I knew they were raspberries, but "black cap" surely seems to fit the look. Maybe someday, I'll look into making jam, for now they are left mostly for the birds.
